So here’s the question a lot of people hear every time they visit their doctor: Are you getting regular exercise? So what do you think of when you think of exercising? Do you picture a gym with huge muscly men and women, intimidating you? Do you think of exercising and dieting until your body gives out on you? Is that what comes to mind when the word “exercise” is mentioned? Well, hopefully not, but if it does, then here’s a wake up call!
Regular exercise doesn’t have to be a pursuit of pain and horrible moments of life. Instead, it should be enjoyable! That’s right, enjoyable! So here are a few tips to help you get up and start enjoying exercising. First of all, don’t go all out at the beginning. Start slow! If you push yourself too hard at the beginning, you’ll either get injured, or you’ll burn yourself out to where you won’t want to continue on. In fact, one of the best exercise you can do is start by walking. Go to the mall, do some window shopping. Take a stroll to a park or to a coffee shop. Another thing you can do to both help get someone else exercising, and keep yourself accountable is to walk with a friend or family member. This will also make the time more enjoyable and you’ll be getting to spend time with the people you care about. Why not get a group of people together? Once you get use to regularly walking, maybe try out riding a bike instead, run a little during your walk or go swimming. Exercising shouldn’t be something you dread doing, but should be one of the highlights of the day! Be creative and use your imagination.
