“For the past two years, Gaga has lived virtually day-in, day-out in huge platform heels!” Lady Gaga’s march towards world domination – in sky-high, gravity-defying shoes – has now seen her take a very different kind of walk. Straight to the podiatrist!
While the singer’s love of wacky footwear has helped her reach the dizzying heights of fame, it has also landed her in agonisinging depths of pain.
After suffering severe shooting pains in her Achilles’ tendon and noticing the emergence of two unsightly bunions, Gaga, 25, has recently had to stagger to her nearest podiatry clinic.
“It has become second nature for her to clamber out of bed and slip on a pair of skyscraper stilettos. For her, they’re almost as comfy as slippers!!”
Unfortunately, her feet don’t agree!
“As well as dry, cracked heels, she’s developing not-so-pretty corns and has been suffering with acute tendonitis. The last thing she wants to do is be out of action and unable to dance, so her team advised her to get specialist help.”
“She had some physio on her feet and is now seeing a podiatrist who suggested that she start wearing trainers during the day. Gaga’s not exactly thrilled at the prospect – she feels she looks like a dwarf in flats – but she is trying to go along with the doctors’ orders.” Earlier this month, The Broken Heels singer – real name Stefani Germanotta – appeared on American Idol wearing a pair of stilettos shaped like men’s rude bits, which were swiftly airbrushed out by incensed TV producers!
Nearly on year ago, Lady Gaga, who has sold more albums in the past week than the other Top 10 acts combined, came a cropper because of her foolhardy footwear just minutes after touching down at Heathrow.
Wearing giant 10in heels, she strutted through arrivals and promptly fell flat on her face, twisting her ankle in the process.
Still, she is not the first celeb to suffer troublesome tootsies becauseof her footwear.
Victoria Beckham was warned she faced a painful op after developing a swollen tissue sac around her big toe. And Paris Hilton and Kate Beckinsale have also been seen with gnarled, knobbly feet.
Remember, girls, they are not called killer heels for nothing.
