Grab your sunglasses and your running shoes, Houston, TX—the Digital Run is coming to town! With heart pumping music and a light show to boot, night owls and running buffs alike will enjoy this 5K race. Meet your friends and family at Reliant Park on April 20. Race time is 8:30 PM, and registration is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
The Digital Run is part of a nationwide project originally known as The Rave Run. Founded in 2012 it is described on the group’s website as, “Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory except with lights.” Light artists have worked to bring special effects to the 3.1 mile course. Costumes and personal lights are encouraged, and families are welcome.
Before you run or dance your way through the race, make sure that your feet are in top shape. If you decide to train first, start slowly and always stretch (don’t forget your feet!!) Check out your gear too. If your running shoes are too small or worn out, you are more likely to suffer foot pain during and after the race.
Runners often suffer from plantar fasciitis which causes arch and heel pain. Ankle sprains, shin splints, and sesamoiditis are also common. If your feet are already hurting, call Dr. Marco Vargas before the race to insure that you don’t further injure yourself.
Has foot pain been keeping you out of the race? Are you missing out on fun events like The Digital Run? Podiatrist Marco Vargas will help you to understand the source of your pain, and get your feet ready for race day. With three convenient locations: Missouri City, TX, Sugarland, TX, and Houston, TX we look forward to serving you. You can also schedule an appointment online.
