What Is the FootMaxx™ Orthotics System?
How Does the Procedure Work & Feel?
Unlike local area foot doctors who rely on x-rays and visual data alone, we can collect detailed information about your feet using this advanced technology. Here’s how it works:
Step One:
One of our podiatrists will ask you to walk across the FootMaxx™ force plate. While standing there, a computer scans your feet and their motions every 3/100 a second! The Footmaxx ™ system measures the weight distribution along the plantar (bottom) surface through the gait cycle, providing a dynamic measurement that considers the leg’s influence. The system also measures the function of the subtalar and the midtarsal ankle/foot joints. This includes detailed information to find out what is causing your foot problems. In addition, the scans will produce 2D and 3D images of your feet and the way you walk.
Step Two:
We look at the 2D and 3D images with you and explain how the way you walk may impact your feet and the pain you feel.
Step Three:
We send your patient file digitally to the FootMaxx™ company, whose team will provide us with your personal Gait and Pressure Analysis Report. This report enables us to design your perfectly shaped orthotic.
Step Four:
The team at the FootMaxx™ lab fully analyzes your digital file with a special scan that compares your results to normal walking patterns. Their Metascan™ analyzes eight special points on your foot to see whether it functions abnormally and whether an orthotics prescription will help you.
Step Five:
The FootMaxx™ team manufactures your custom orthotic insoles using the scan data and any other information we provide them about your feet. The digital images help them create perfect prescription orthotics that will end your pain. You will not need to step in any plaster to make a cast on your foot.
Step Six:
Within a few days, your new customized orthotics go to the FootMaxx™ Quality Control department, which will check them carefully against the orthotics prescription and our instructions. Finally, our podiatry office will get your new custom orthotics within three weeks, ready for fitting.
