It is the end of the year festivities. How about you pat yourself on the back for the job well done this past year? No matter how this year was for you, here is a well-done hug from us.

We know there were a few regretful moments, but how about we take a few moments to focus on the best part of the year and look back on how far you have come? Are you not proud of yourself? We sure are proud of you.

The Christmas holidays are about eating good food, exchanging gifts, and spending time with family and friends. However, the entire process can be overwhelming. So how can you unwind and relax after these stressful events? First, let us recommend an optimum self-care session. Self-care is taking time to provide holistic, loving care for yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. It is about showing love and affection in the best way possible to yourself, for yourself, and by yourself.

Allow us to introduce you to the ultimate self-care session. Below is a delicately organized list of self-care events you can give to yourself this holiday.

Exercise and relax

After the long week of Christmas preparation, days you spent shopping for gifts and cooking delicious food. Take a break and relax. Go out and breathe some fresh air. Take a walk in the park with your pet or take a jogging course and stretch your muscles. Or you could also engage in home workouts. Pick a choice that makes you comfortable.

Treat yourself

There is absolutely nothing wrong with indulging in some extra treats. It is you acknowledging your efforts and congratulating yourself on a job well. You can shop for that one luxury bag and shoe you have always wanted. Or you can go to that famous restaurant with excellent reviews.

How about a full foot spa day? You can indulge in all foot massages, therapy, and other treatments. Vargas Foot and Ankle specialists offer a wide range of foot treatments that you can use to pamper yourself.

Take good care of yourself. You deserve all the good loving.

Watch a movie

What do you think of a private Netflix and chill? You cuddled up under the covers, sipping a hot cup of hot chocolate or coffee in a dimly lit room, watching movies, especially a holiday-themed rom-com, with your adorable pet snuggled next to you. Now that scene looks very therapeutic. Or you could go to the cinemas to catch a trending new release. Remember to bring drinks and snacks along.

Read a book

Reading books can also be therapeutic, especially with soft background music. There are so many excellent books that are perfect reads for your self-care sessions. Examples are More than enough by Elaine Welteroth, Born a Crime by Trevor Noah, and Talking to strangers by Malcolm Gladwell. You can check out these and other books.

Audiobooks are also available; you can listen while working out or doing chores. Another option is podcasts; you can listen to some related to comedy, society, and culture-themed podcasts.

Meditation

Take thirty minutes out of your day to meditate. Meditation promotes healthy living and has fantastic therapeutic effects on your body physically, mentally, and emotionally. Reflect on the past year, the good and evil, focus on things you are grateful for, and make resolutions to improve the following year.

Or enroll in yoga or pilates classes. They help to relieve stress and also tone your body muscles.

Volunteering

The holidays are a perfect time for volunteering. It is a time to give joy and love to others who deserve it. There is also a feeling of feeling and accomplishment that comes with it.

Eat healthy and get enough sleep.

One of the best things about self-care is consuming healthy and balanced meals. While actively working, getting a proper meal in between tasks can be tricky. This self-care session is an opportunity to fix your diet and supply your body with the necessary nutrients and minerals. Eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and proteins. Also, drink water.

It is also the perfect time to rest well and catch up on your sleep.

Be Gentle With Yourself

Self-care is about checking in with yourself, encouraging yourself, and taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve your physical and mental health. A perfect day to focus on yourself is on Boxing day. The day after Christmas, when the festivities’ fever has quieted down. You also take out that day all for yourself.

The ultimate self-care session should always include foot care. A healthy foot helps in promoting the general well-being of the body. At Vargas foot and ankle specialist, we offer a wide range of quality modernized podiatric care where we diagnose and help customize your treatment option to fit your specific needs.
